Franca was admitted as a lawyer in 1987 and practices exclusively in family law and de facto relationship law, having specialised in family law since 1991. She is highly respected as a senior family law practitioner and has acted for clients in significant family law cases that have clarified the application of the law.

Franca aims to bridge the gap between what a client thinks the legal system can provide and what the system actually does provide, and in doing so, her goal is to have her clients feel that justice was done.

Franca has successfully worked on complex property settlement cases involving company structures and overseas properties and investments. In recent years Franca has become active in assisting clients to resolve their disputes through alternate dispute methods including mediation and the collaborative law process which promotes more co-operation and less litigation to achieve a solution for a client’s problem.

Franca has been on the board of directors of Relationships Australia. She has been a part-time lecturer and tutor in family law and a tutor in contract law at the University of Wollongong.

Franca is a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and the president of the Collaborative Family Lawyers Shoalhaven and Illawarra (CFLIS) group.

A strong believer in pro bono community service, Franca has volunteered with the Legal Aid Commission and works regularly - for free - at the Kells’ Legal Clinics.

Franca is fluent in Italian and is a past board member of the Italian Social Welfare Organisation (IT.SO.WEL).
