James is an experienced compensation lawyer who prides himself on his tenacity. He grew up in the small coastal country town of Tomerong and applies outcome-based approaches to assist accident victims in achieving the greatest levels of compensation available.  Prior to joining Kells, James has built an enviable record of protecting the rights of injured people and positioned himself as a leading compensation lawyer in the Shoalhaven and on the South Coast.


What he does

 

James specialises in compensation law and has vast experience in all compensation claims including product liability (defective products and medical devices), medical negligence, dust diseases, workers compensation, motor vehicle accidents, Superannuation (such as TPD claims), public liability (slip and falls) – just to name a few.  


He has substantial experience in District Court and Supreme Court matters, as well as cases before the Dust Disease Tribunal and Personal Injury Commission.

James acts for injured people seeking advice for compensation. He has extensive experience in all types of claims and has successfully battled even the largest of companies to ensure the best possible compensation outcomes were achieved.  


Qualifications

 

James holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Bachelor of Commerce (finance), receiving numerous awards for his academic performance including a position on the coveted Dean’s Merit List. Having excelled in his studies, James graduated with distinction. He completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (GDLP) at the Australian National University.  James has since furthered his knowledge by attaining a Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety. This allows him to provide a unique insight into work-related injuries, and to litigating Work Injury Damages claims against employers.  His elective studies in Product Liability & Consumer Law also places him in an advantageous position to advise any clients suffering from injuries caused by a faulty product (such as electrical appliances). 


Community

 

James is the Vice President of the Business Network International (BNI) and was previously involved with the Lions Club on the South Coast.  


Life Outside Kells

 

James enjoys spending his time with his young family. He enjoys camping and off-road adventures, and playing sport such as golf and tennis.
