About
Michael is a partner, a Law Society Accredited Specialist in property law and is the head of the Kells property and estate planning teams. He grew up in Albion Park and is known for being practical, charismatic, humorous and loyal.
What he does
Michael has a well-earned reputation as an expert in acting for people buying and selling real estate and leasing property. In addition, he’s experienced in land subdivisions, rural issues and acting on intergenerational transfers. He regularly acts for business owners who are buying, expanding and selling their business.
One of Michael’s niche areas of expertise is acting for self-managed superannuation funds to buy property and borrow money using a limited recourse borrowing arrangement, including where the lender is a bank or a related party of the SMSF’s trustee.
“I’m very analytical and strategic in my approach, because I’m looking for a legal solution that’s also commercially desirable for my clients. I keep things simple and in property law, you can’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. You need to tailor the legal solution to the client’s circumstances and objectives.”
Who Michael works with
Michael acts for families, small and medium business, not for profits and corporations. He has developed solid relationships over many years with local real estate agents, accountants and financial planners which gives him the ability to access a network of professionals who can assist his clients.
